China Energy Storage Network News: According to foreign media reports, the US utility company NV Energy recently released an Integrated Resource Plan (IRP) for the procurement of three solar + energy storage projects and one large-scale transmission line project in Nevada. Jiang hopes that the project can be Change the state’s clean energy landscape.

The solar energy + energy storage project is part of the company’s integrated resource plan (IRP) document. The total installed capacity of the project is 478MW solar farm and the total installed capacity is 338MW battery energy storage system. It is expected that these projects will create more than 700 temporary jobs and be deployed by the end of 2023.

NV Energy plans to purchase the Dry Lake solar + energy storage project deployed 20 miles northeast of Las Vegas, in which the solar farm has an installed capacity of 150MW, and a supporting deployment of a 4-hour battery energy storage system with an installed capacity of 100MW .

The company also plans to purchase the Boulder Solar III solar + energy storage project deployed in the southern part of Boulder City, which will consist of a solar farm with an installed capacity of 128MW and a 4-hour battery energy storage system with an installed capacity of 58MW. The project was developed and deployed by 174 Power Global and KOMIPO America.

In addition, the company plans to purchase the Chuckwalla solar + energy storage project located 25 miles northeast of Las Vegas, which will consist of a solar farm with an installed capacity of 200MW and a 4-hour battery energy storage system with an installed capacity of 180MW. The North American branch of EDF will develop the project.

Doug Cannon, CEO of NV Energy, said: “The deployment of these three solar + energy storage projects shows that NV Energy is committed to providing our customers with lower-cost electricity services.”

As part of the Integrated Resource Plan (IRP) filed in Nevada, NV Energy is also seeking permission to build a transmission line project called Greenlink Nevada, which will build two transmission lines. If approved, the project plans to start planning in 2020 and provide more than 4,000 jobs during its 11-year construction period.

Cannon said, “Nevada’s recently strengthened renewable energy portfolio standards require that 50% of the energy used in Nevada must come from renewable energy. The construction of these solar + energy storage projects and transmission lines is to meet this requirement. Significant progress has been made in achieving the state’s 2050 carbon emission reduction target. Our customers will benefit from greater transmission capacity and more renewable energy in environmental and economic aspects, including clean air, business growth, and improvement Reliability, and lower energy costs.”

These newly released projects will join NV Energy’s current portfolio of 53 geothermal, solar, hydro, wind, and biomass energy projects. The total installed capacity of solar power facilities is 2,191MW, and the installed capacity of battery energy storage systems. The capacity is nearly 700MW.
